Alibaba Shipping to Indonesia: Freight Forwarder for Your Alibaba Orders
You have found a supplier on Alibaba.com and the goods need to reach Indonesia, whether you are an Indonesian business or a foreign company supplying a project, a store or a buyer there. The decisions that drive the real cost come before you pay: which Incoterm to accept, where the supplier hands over the goods, and who clears Indonesian customs. This page explains EXW, FCA and FOB for Alibaba orders and the three services we offer: IDX Import Drop Point Consol DDP, IDX Import DTD DDP and IDX Import Port to Port.
Honest scope: we are a freight forwarder and customs broker, not a buying agent. You order and pay the supplier yourself, including anything under Trade Assurance. We ship the goods to Indonesia, clear customs and deliver. Outside Jakarta: forwarded to a warehouse or port in the destination city, door delivery confirmed by our operations team.
Goods are handed over at the factory. Export documents and transport to the port or airport are the buyer’s cost.
IDX Import DTD DDP or Port to Port with an origin Add-on (pickup and export documents). For the Drop Point, ask the supplier to deliver to our warehouse, or choose the pickup Add-on.
FCA (Free Carrier)
The supplier hands over export-ready goods at a named place, such as a forwarder warehouse or the origin airport.
Air under IDX Import DTD DDP (FCA origin airport), or the Drop Point with our Drop Point warehouse as the named place.
FOB (Free On Board)
The supplier pays until the goods are loaded on the vessel at the origin port, including export formalities. Sea freight only.
Sea under IDX Import DTD DDP (port-to-door base price) or IDX Import Port to Port.
CIF / CFR
The supplier has paid freight to the destination port through its own agent.
IDX Customs Clearance in Indonesia. Destination port charges are billed by the carrier’s agent, so ask before you agree.
Three Services for Alibaba Orders
IDX Import Drop Point Consol DDP
Small shipments, samples or goods from several suppliers (general non-restricted cargo). The supplier drops off at our Drop Point warehouse in China; we consolidate and deliver with import duty and taxes paid. See drop-off warehouses.
IDX Import DTD DDP
Regular cargo (air from 50 kg per air waybill, sea LCL from 3 W/M, or FCL). Base price is port to door from the origin port or airport; factory pickup through an origin Add-on. Duty and taxes included.
IDX Import Port to Port
For companies importing under their own Indonesian import licence: freight only, destination local charges as an Add-on, plus IDX Customs Clearance.

Documents to Request from the Supplier
Commercial invoice at the real transaction value, with a clear description, quantity and currency. Do not accept advice to undervalue the invoice: Indonesian Customs can reassess the value with penalties, and the goods are held meanwhile.
Packing list with the number of cartons, gross weight and dimensions.
Photos of the goods and packaging (required at booking).
HS code and specifications (material, function, brand). The supplier’s export HS code is a reference; we check the Indonesian classification, because duty and restrictions depend on it.
Form E (ACFTA certificate of origin) where available, for a possible preferential tariff; its use is assessed per shipment.
Check the Product First
Goods that need Indonesian permits, such as cosmetics, food, supplements, products under mandatory SNI and telecom devices, are not shipped through the China Drop Point and are assessed per shipment for other services. Powders, liquids and batteries are not accepted at the Drop Point. Send us the product and HS code before you pay; see import licence guide for foreign companies.

Fix the Incoterm and handover point on the proforma invoice before paying the supplier.
Book; for the Drop Point, the warehouse address and marking code are issued once the booking is confirmed.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which Incoterm should I choose on my Alibaba order?
For small shipments through the Drop Point, ask the supplier to deliver to our Drop Point warehouse in Guangzhou or Foshan as a local delivery within China. For larger cargo under IDX Import DTD DDP, choose FOB origin port (sea) or FCA origin airport (air), because our base price is port to door. If the supplier only offers EXW, origin pickup and export documents can be added as an Add-on.
The supplier offers CIF, CFR or "DDP to Indonesia". What should I check?
Under CIF and CFR the supplier and its agent arrange the freight. We can still clear the goods in Indonesia with IDX Customs Clearance, but local charges at the destination port are billed by the carrier's agent and may only become known on arrival. For a supplier "DDP" offer, check who the importer is and what is covered, and compare it with our quote from FOB or FCA.

No. Trade Assurance protects the transaction between buyer and supplier on Alibaba.com, so claims about quality, quantity or production delays are handled between you, the supplier and Alibaba. We are responsible for the shipment under our Terms & Conditions. Photos and weights taken when goods arrive at the Drop Point warehouse can help you match the cartons against your order.
Can you buy the goods or pay the supplier for me?
No. You place and pay for the order yourself. We handle the shipping: receiving at the warehouse or pickup, origin export documents, freight, customs clearance, import duty and taxes (for DDP services) and delivery.
I am a foreign company buying from Alibaba for a project in Indonesia. Do I need an Indonesian importer?
For general cargo under IDX Import DTD DDP or IDX Import Drop Point Consol DDP, we handle the import formalities, customs clearance and payment of duties and taxes as part of the price, and deliver to your site address. Goods that need Indonesian permits are assessed per shipment. If your Indonesian entity holds an import licence, IDX Import Port to Port with IDX Customs Clearance lets you import in its own name.
How much does shipping from Alibaba to Indonesia cost?
Current rates per route and service are shown in the IDX app, calculated from weight, volume and the type of goods. We do not print rates on this page so that you always see the rate in force. Full containers (FCL) under DDP are calculated from the invoice value of the goods.
How long does it take?
Estimated transit times are shown in the app and confirmed by our operations team at booking. They are estimates, not fixed dates: supplier production time is not included, and customs clearance time depends on the documents and the inspection channel assigned.
