You have a buyer in Indonesia, but no company there. This guide explains the delivery terms, documents and checks involved, and how IDX Import DTD DDP lets you quote your buyer one landed price with import duty and taxes already paid.
Under DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) the seller’s price includes freight, Indonesian customs clearance, import duty and taxes, and delivery. Under DAP the goods arrive, but duty, taxes and clearance are paid by the buyer, which is where surprise invoices on arrival come from. DDP suits buyers without an import licence, online and B2B sellers who want to quote a landed price, and project supplies that need one predictable figure. If your buyer already imports under its own licence, DAP with IDX Import Port to Port can be cheaper.
2. Prepare the documents
Commercial invoice with a clear description of each item, quantity, unit value and currency.
Packing list with gross weight and dimensions per package.
The HS code of each item if you have it; we check the classification, because duty depends on it.
Any certificate the goods need (for example a certificate of origin, or a permit for regulated goods).
3. Understand what DDP pays for
Indonesian import charges are calculated from the customs value of the goods and the HS code: import duty, VAT on import and income tax on import. With IDX Import DTD DDP these are inside the price per kg (air) or per W/M (sea LCL) shown in our app; for full containers they are calculated from the invoice value. More background: Indonesia import duty and tax.
4. Check that the goods are eligible
Subject to goods eligibility. The service is for general, non-dangerous cargo. Goods that need an Indonesian permit or registration before import (for example food, cosmetics and supplements, SNI-marked products, telecom devices, plants and animal products) are checked by our team before booking, and some cannot be shipped under DDP. See restricted goods.
5. Check the size of the shipment
Minimums (from our app): air DDP is charged on chargeable weight, the greater of actual weight and L × W × H (cm) / 6,000, with a minimum of 50 kg per air waybill. Sea LCL DDP is charged per W/M (1 CBM or 1,000 kg, whichever is greater) with a minimum of 3 W/M per bill of lading. Full containers (FCL 20ft / 40ft / 40HC) under DDP are calculated from the invoice value of the goods in the app.
6. Get the landed price
Check your origin city on the country pages, or enter it in the app:
Not necessarily. With IDX Import DTD DDP we arrange the import formalities, customs clearance and payment of duties and taxes as part of one price, and deliver to your buyer. Some goods need an Indonesian permit or registration whatever the delivery term; we check this before booking.
Who pays the import duty and taxes under DDP?
They are included in the DDP price you pay us, so your buyer pays nothing for duty or taxes on arrival. The amount depends on the HS code and the customs value of the goods.
Can I get a fixed delivery date?
No. Transit times in our app are estimates, and customs clearance time depends on the documents and the inspection channel assigned.
What is the smallest shipment you accept?
50 kg chargeable weight per air waybill by air, or 3 W/M per bill of lading by sea LCL. Small parcels are usually better with a courier.
Can my goods be refused?
Goods that are prohibited, or restricted without the required permit, cannot be imported under DDP. We check eligibility from your description, HS code and documents before booking.
