DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) shipping from the United Arab Emirates to Indonesia for trading houses, manufacturers and regional distributors in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah. One all-in quote covers freight, Indonesian customs clearance, import duty and taxes, and delivery to your buyer’s door.
Dubai is a trading hub, and much of what leaves the UAE for Indonesia is sold by traders rather than factories. Typical shippers are UAE trading companies selling to Indonesian importers and resellers, Middle Eastern brands in fragrance, food and fashion entering the Indonesian market, oil and gas and industrial suppliers sending spare parts to Indonesian sites, and regional distributors serving Southeast Asia from a free-zone warehouse. DDP lets you quote your Indonesian customer a landed, duty-paid price even when the customer has no import licence of its own.
Aluminium sheet, profiles, wire and fabricated metal items. Several metal HS codes are restricted (SNI and/or import approval), so we check the HS code first.
Plastic resins, base oils, lubricants and greases. An MSDS is required; flammable or hazardous items are quoted separately and only where the carrier accepts them.
Valves, pumps, drilling and process equipment parts, instrumentation and tools. Usually general cargo; used or refurbished items follow separate rules.
Fragrances and cosmetics need BPOM notification in Indonesia, and perfumes are usually dangerous goods (flammable liquid) for air freight.
Dates, nuts, confectionery and packaged food need BPOM and quarantine documents, and may also fall under Indonesian halal rules. Plan these before shipping.
Phones, IT hardware and consumer goods traded from Dubai. Radio and telecom devices need SDPPI certification, and the country of manufacture is the origin.
Sea: Jebel Ali (Dubai) to Tanjung Priok, Jakarta; Abu Dhabi and Sharjah ports can be checked on request. Air: Dubai (DXB), Abu Dhabi (AUH) and Sharjah (SHJ) to Soekarno-Hatta, Jakarta. Pickup from mainland or free-zone warehouses, for example in Jebel Ali Free Zone, can be included; tell us the pickup location and whether the goods are in a free zone.
Indonesian customs clearance takes place in Jakarta: at Tanjung Priok for sea cargo and at Soekarno-Hatta for air cargo. Delivery to an address in Jakarta is part of the DDP quote; delivery to other cities such as Surabaya, Batam, Balikpapan, Medan or Bali is quoted per shipment. Transit times depend on the sailing or flight schedule and are confirmed with each quote.
Under DDP the goods are imported through a registered Indonesian importer of record arranged by us, so the buyer does not need its own import licence for general cargo. See importer of record in Indonesia.
Indonesia and the UAE have a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IUAE-CEPA). Goods that qualify as UAE origin under the CEPA rules may receive a preferential import duty rate, but only with a valid CEPA certificate of origin whose details match the invoice and shipping documents. Eligibility is confirmed per shipment against the HS code.
Origin, not the shipping country, decides the duty. Goods made in China, India, Europe or elsewhere and re-exported from Dubai keep their original country of origin, and the CEPA does not apply to them. They are assessed at the general rate unless the origin country has its own trade agreement with Indonesia and the documents support it. In every case VAT (11% effective) and income tax article 22 still apply. More detail: Indonesia import duty and tax.
Some products need an Indonesian permit or certification before import, for example SNI certification, a pre-shipment surveyor report (LS), BPOM registration for food and cosmetics, quarantine clearance, or SDPPI certification for radio and telecom devices. These must exist before the goods leave the UAE: a surveyor report cannot be obtained after the cargo has arrived in Jakarta. We review restricted goods shipment by shipment and handle them when the shipment can be made compliant; we do not quote them blind. Background: selling to Indonesia without a local import licence.
An Indonesian company holding an NIB with import licence can import in its own name. We then provide IDX Import Port to Port (freight from the UAE to Jakarta) together with IDX Customs Clearance (declaration and release in Jakarta), and the buyer pays duty and taxes directly. DDP suits buyers without a licence and sellers who want one landed price. See customs clearance in Indonesia.
Quotes are issued in Indonesian rupiah (IDR); a USD reference amount can be shown on request, which helps when you price in AED or USD. Indicative prices are on our rate pages and in the IndoExpress quote app; the final DDP figure is confirmed after we check the commercial invoice and packing list. For a quick quote, send the goods description, weight and dimensions, pickup location, delivery address in Indonesia and invoice value.
